Liquid silence

You hold on to your own violin’s bow

The conductor sparks lighting up

perfect ears anticipation syrupy silence

You hold tight, really tight to the wood’s bow

I should have studied at home

The looping thought

The impossible to tune flat notes

you breath in as deep as possible

golden syrupy silence

Conductor’s hand up in the air

liquid silence flooding the rehearsal’s hall

“steady hand” the order thought

I should have studied at home

Malher’s conclusions expressed in high pitches and melancholic phrasing

Pianissimo the bow finally slides down

Sparks and expressive hands carrying us

Carrying us all along before the difficult

Before reaching the not studied part–

“First violins you should study more at home”
